Frozen Wave - How to fix

Wave Line Stuck Forever (Can’t reach Tokidos cloud)
If your PlayCube shows the wavy line (sine wave) animation and it never changes, it usually means your PlayCubes connected to Wi-Fi successfully, but can’t reach Tokidos’ cloud services to finish the connection.

What you see
- The wave line / sine wave animation starts
- It keeps looping and never progresses
-
You may hear: “Wi-Fi is connected”
Meaning
Your PlayCubes likely:
- Received Wi-Fi credentials and connected to your network, and
- Got an IP address (they are on your Wi-Fi)
But they can’t reach Tokidos’ backend (cloud), so they get stuck in a loop.
Common causes (simple explanation):
- Router security, firewall, or “family protection” settings blocking access
- DNS filtering or network protection (ad-blocking DNS or similar tools)
-
Some mesh Wi-Fi or network protection features interfering
Good news: your PlayCubes are usually fine. This is often a network settings issue, and we can fix it.
Before you start
Please check these quick items first:
- Turn Bluetooth ON on your phone (needed for the app to detect the cubes during setup)
- Move the cubes close to your Wi-Fi router (same room is best)
- Keep the CarryBox plugged in and use a 2A+ power adapter for stable power. "Fast Charge" cables may not be recognized.
-
Make sure your phone is connected to the Wi-Fi network you want the cubes to use
Tip: After each step below, test once. If it works, you can stop there.
Step-by-step fix
Solution 1: Normal Reset (quick restart)
1- Find the reset button
- It’s the small button under the cube
- You can press it gently with a pencil tip or pen

2- Press the reset button once
3- Wait for the cube to reboot fully
4- Open the Tokidos app
5- Tap “Connect PlayCubes”
6- Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password
7- Wait about 30 to 60 seconds
8- Listen for confirmation (for example: “Wi-Fi connected”) and watch for the next screen
If the wave line stops and setup completes, you’re good to go.
Solution 2: Try a phone hotspot (to isolate the network issue)
This is the quickest way to confirm if your home Wi-Fi is blocking cloud access.
1. Turn on Personal Hotspot on your phone (or another phone)
-
-
- What is a hotspot?
- It turns your phone into a temporary Wi-Fi network.
- You can find it in your phone settings.
-
2. In the Tokidos app, connect the cubes to the hotspot network
-
-
- Open the app
- Go to Settings
- Select your PlayCube
- Tap “Connect to a new Wi-Fi”
- Choose your hotspot from the Wi-Fi list
- Enter the hotspot password (if prompted)
-
3. Watch what happens
✅ If hotspot works: your cubes are fine and your home Wi-Fi settings are the issue
❌ If hotspot also fails: do one more Normal Reset and retry the hotspot once
If hotspot works but home Wi-Fi doesn’t
This strongly suggests your home network is blocking something the cubes need.
Try these quick fixes:
- Temporarily disable: DNS filtering / “safe browsing” / “ad blocker DNS” (AdGuard-type setups)
- Router “network protection,” parental controls, or strict firewall modes
- If your router has multiple bands, try the network your phone uses most reliably (often 2.4 GHz)
Then re-send Wi-Fi credentials in the app.
Solution 3: Consider a Factory Reset
⚠️ Factory Reset will erase games/progress/files.
Use this if:
- You’re also seeing other strange symptoms (glitches, corrupted visuals, persistent odd behavior)
- Normal resets don’t help
Follow the Factory Reset guide instructions here.
Still stuck on the wave line?
If you suspect there may be a broader service interruption (cloud/AWS), please try again a bit later.
If it continues, send an email to our support with:
- A photo/video of the wave animation
- Whether hotspot worked or not
- The type of router (if you know it)
