Maths Alchemist is a great game to learn additions before mastering numbers. Combine ingredients by adding quantities instead of numbers, to create magical potions and help the villagers.

About the game

Math Alchemist is an introduction to mathematics that allows the player to manipulate quantities instead of numbers. In a fantasy context with a touch of humor, the player takes on the role of an alchemist's assistant who creates potions for the villagers. Through 10 narrative quests, the player creates a potion in 3 steps, which requires adding quantities to move on to the next step, quantities changes every time to challenge the player.

How to play:
- The game randomly selects one of the quests, starting with the villager's request.
- Once the first instruction is given, the player must add the quantities by snapping the cubes together.
- Then, simply shake the cube with the result over the cauldron to transfer the quantity of the ingredient.
- Once all the steps are completed, the potion is finished. The quest ends with a narrative sequence.

Dungeons and dragons for little kids

I wasn't sure about this, since it seemed a little too elementary for my 4 YO who has a special interest in math. He loved the Peter Rabbit game at first, but now asks for it to include multiplication and seems a bit bored with it. I got "math alchemist" anyway on the recommendation of Tokidos and am SO GLAD I did. This isn't just a math game; it's a really soothing dungeons and dragons game for littles. Mine doesn't like music, but this music is soft and comforting and the voice is so lovely. The names of the ingredients are really special and he often repeats them, smiling. The only negative is that he gets to 15 quickly, and then it seems that 10+5 is the equation that's repeated -- for a game like this, I think it would be better if they scaled down again since more variety would keep him interested, and it's not the math per se that is his favorite thing about the card. He's been playing with it more as a make-pretend game that is appropriate for an older set, so even if your child has mastered basic counting, it's still a fun game to play, especially at bedtime, as a way to wind down but give in to playing one more game before going to bed. The soothing voice and music are also a bonus for bedtime.

Great for Learning

The “graphics” on the cubes for this game are adorable and interactive. The story/ game play is fantastic, this is our favourite game so far. Fun learning for our 4 year old. Highly recommend!

Son jeu préféré

Nous adorons l'alchimie des maths et notre fille de 4 ans tout particulièrement. Elle est devenue très habile en mathématique, j'ai presque peur qu'elle s'ennuie à l'école!
